Plantations International
How to Start:
Email [email protected] to express your interest in working with Plantations International. This will connect you with someone at Plantations International who can answer any remaining questions you may have and provide the paperwork for you to move forward.
Description:
Plantations International is a multi-national corporation that produces and distributes produce throughout the world. You can invest with them and own your own block of mango trees. They will plant the trees, nurture the trees, collect the harvest, and sell the harvest.
After the harvest is sold, you get paid a percentage of the gross revenue from the sale. Plantations International keeps 20% of the revenue as their management fee. Therefore, Plantations International wants the same thing you do…the largest harvest possible (volume) and the highest price possible.
When trees are planted, it typically takes about three years before the first harvest. Therefore, it does not generate immediate income. However, the agreement is for 25 years, so the income lasts a long time. Plus, the income grows as the tree grows. The income grows as prices increase with inflation.
The minimum investment is about $15,000.
Watch the video presentation below for more details.

Return:
Plantations International is designed to provide long-term, inflation-adjusted returns.
- Expected Return: The average annual return over 25 years is expected to be more than 40% per year.
- Time Period: The contract with Plantations International is for 25 years, which is the typical life of a productive mango tree.
- Return Explanation: Their brochure shows an average return over 25 years of 16.76% per year. However, this is based on mangos selling for $2/kg and the current price is already more than $2.75/kg. Also, it shows annual inflation of just 1% per year for 25 years. If you start with the actual current price of mangoes and increase at 3% inflation (the historical average), your 25 year average return is over 40% per year.
Risk:
Every investment has risks. Here are key factors to consider:
- Trees get damaged:
- This is the most obvious risk of the investment
- To protect you, the company has a guarantee that they will replace your trees with trees owned by the company if something happens to your trees. In addition, there are multiple layers of insurance (crop insurance, disaster insurance, etc.) to provide further protection
- Company Instability:
- The risk of something happening to the company over the next 25 years
- At this point, the company is worth more than $500 Million (based on an audit by one of the world’s largest accounting firms) with operations in many countries. While this does not guarantee stability, it is certainly encouraging.
*This is not a comprehensive list of risks but highlights potential challenges to achieving expected results.
Liquidity:
- This opportunity does not provide any liquidity. In other words, you cannot withdraw your funds.
- In case of emergency, you are allowed to sell your trees to someone else, so you could probably find someone in the community to buy out your position at a discount.
Tax Consequences:
- Check with your tax preparer, but our understanding is…
- There is no tax deduction for the original investment
- There would be no taxes due until you have received your initial investment back, which would take a few years
- Once you have received the return of your principal, your additional revenue would be taxed as income
- Due to the long time-frame of this opportunity, it is a great fit for retirement funds, such as a Self-Directed IRA or something similar.
Fit in Portfolio:
Plantations International provides:

Diversified Cash Flow
Generates income not tied to stock or crypto markets.

High Returns
Significantly higher cash flow compared to traditional investments.

Inflation-Adjusted Returns

What the Process Looks Like:

Introduction
We introduce you to our contact at Plantations International, so you can ask any questions about the opportunity.

Commitment
Once you are ready to move forward, they will send you a contract for your e-signature.

Funding
It can be funded with a wire to their bank or with a crypto transfer.

Wait
Seriously. This is one of the easiest and most passive investments.
They will provide you with access to an online portal so you can see your assets. During the first few years, you will probably receive a very small amount of revenue from inter-cropping (while waiting for the mango trees to grow, they often plan fast-producing crops, so there is some cash flow)

Payout
Once a year–after harvest–you will receive a bank transfer for your share of the revenue generated by selling the harvest (your banking info is set up in their portal).
Time Commitment:

Setup Phase
Minutes…just read and sign the agreement. Send the funds.

Ongoing
Minutes…just read any updates that come out.
Due Diligence:
- Is it real? (not a scam)
7.0 on a scale of 1-10.
Why? Besides due diligence performed by members, we travelled to Thailand to meet face-to-face with the executive team (including the CEO) and travel to see two of their operating farms. - Are returns as promised?
5.0 on a scale of 1-10.
Why? The longest any of our members have been invested with Plantations International is for three years. Only minimal payouts have been made, but no payments were expected the first three years (as trees were planted and grew). - Does Risk/Reward make sense? (this is opinion)
6.0 on a scale of 1-10.
Why? The reward for this opportunity can be significant as long as the payments are received as planned for the entire 25 year term. The risk is that something unexpected interrupts these payments. The risk/reward on this opportunity is good, but not amazing.Â

Expertise: This multinational corporation has management offices in Switzerland, Spain, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Vietnam. They manage plantations in five more countries. Mango trees are just one small part of their overall operations. All of their mango tree operations (management and farms) are in Thailand. They chose Thailand because it is the best place to grow the species of mango that is in highest demand.
Third Party Evaluation: Mazars is the largest accounting firm in Europe (over 40,000 accountants) and they were hired to provide an independent evaluation of Plantations in 2023-2024. This was required because Plantations International was issuing a bond on the Vienna stock exchange. This valuation showed that Plantations International was worth over $600 Million at that time.
Our Due Diligence: Steve Lawson flew to Thailand in late 2023 as part of due diligence. He was able to visit the regional headquarters in Bangkok as well as meet the CEO and several members of the office staff. On two consecutive days, they took “field trips” to two separate plantations, one SouthEast of Bangkok and the other West of Bangkok. Both locations were well-staffed (with busy workers wearing company shirts), had numerous company vehicles (trucks with the company logo), and had many acres of trees. Each row of trees was clearly labelled with the plant date and the owner of those trees. Steve was able to find the trees that he owned as well as a few of the rows owned by other members of Unbroken Investing.
Results:
Several members of Unbroken Investing have invested with Plantations International.
âś… Because of the 3 year period between planting and harvest, none of us have received our first significant payout yet.
âś… A few members have received small payments for revenue from intercropping.
